Had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Ruth and Patrick at The Galway Bay Hotel. A stunning wedding venue located in Salthill on the outskirts of Galway City with gorgeous views of the sea and a great location wedding photography.
Ruth and Patrick had a civil ceremony at the hotel venue, this was also the location of the bridal prep for her and her bridesmaids. Patrick and his groomsmen were getting ready at his parents’ house which was in Moycullen roughly twenty minutes away. After capturing some candid images of Ruth having her hair and makeup done along with details such as rings, wedding dress, shoes and bridal accessories I headed to Moycullen.
Ruth and her bridesmaids were great to be around just genuinely nice people full of fun and laughter. This was also the case with Patrick and his groomsmen. Super co-operative and just wanted the best atmosphere for the wedding day.
I knew it was going to be a super smooth day in terms of photography as I had a bridal party that wanted the best for their friends who were tying the knot. It was very easy for me to capture both candid and posed photographs as they trusted the process.
I’m often asked about what style my wedding photography is. Unfortunately that is not a straight-forward question to answer. In my opinion a couple of factors influence my style such as the personalities of the couples and how they relax in front of the camera, the co-operation of the bridal party as a group and weather will also have a factor on style combined with the location.
Taking these factors into account I always describe my style as eclectic with a good mixture of candid documentary images combined with classic timeless portraits and some creative signature images for that WOW FACTOR.
With thanks to Ruth and Patrick and their bridal party I achieved that eclectic style that I am proud of. They were delighted with their wedding pictures, but also the approach we had fun on their wedding day.
A wedding day is all about collaboration that’s when the magic happens.
