Had the absolute pleasure of the photographing the wedding of Shauna and Brian a few weeks back. The morning started at the bridal prep which took place at The Loughrea Hotel & Spa, not a long commute for me as I am based very near the hotel itself. Shauna and her bridesmaids were having the craic as I arrived, and I knew that it was going to be a great wedding with people that were good fun to be in the company of. The girls were in the excellent hands of Natalie from Natalie O’Brien Bridal and Caroline from Caroline Coyne Makeup two fabulous people and just brilliant at what they do. I spent roughly an hour with the girls capturing some candid moments along with wedding details, wedding dress, rings shoes and jewellery etc. I then headed to Brian’s parents’ house which was in Craughwell a neighbouring parish and only ten minutes away. There it was the same atmosphere the boys were getting ready, and I could hear the laughter as I approached the front door they were in fine spirits and gave me a great welcome and even offered me some beer which I didn’t take of course, I felt I needed a steady camera for the day that was.
I spent time getting portraits of Brian and then concentrated on getting some individual as well as group images with him and his groomsmen along with his parents and family members.
Everybody was super co-operative which made my job very easy indeed, if there are family members that have their own partners and children, I also like to get some family pictures for those people as they are nice gift to give after the wedding day.
When I was finished, I headed back to the hotel to get some bridal portraits of Shauna and her bridesmaids before they were due to leave for the wedding ceremony with was taking place at The Loughrea Cathedral. The room in which Shauna was using for her bridal prep had loads of natural light and was great place to capture natural images of her and the girls along with some of the more stylised wedding images.
After the ceremony family pictures were photographed on the grounds of the Cathedral and we then headed to Woodville Walled Garden another local location and a great place for wedding photography also a nice location to visit, run by very friendly people. Alan from Wedding Car Galway was on chauffeur duties which meant Shauna and Brian were in safe hands been driven around the Galway countryside and a great man to lend a helping hand on a wedding day. I like to work fast so we spent roughly forty minutes having some fun and getting some great wedding images (even if I do say so myself) and then it was time to head back to the drink’s reception at The Loughrea Hotel & Spa, where a bride and groom are always in the safe hands of Nicole and Damien. More images were captured into the evening along with speeches, first dance and some photographs on the really nice roof top garden at The Loughrea Hotel & Spa.
