Sinead and Stuart came all the way from Scotland for their destination wedding in Ireland which was held at The Galway Bay Hotel located in Salthill on the outskirts of Galway City. 

Based in Scotland they wanted to have their wedding ceremony in Sinead’s home parish of Glenamaddy, in Co. Galway. The morning started at the hotel where both the bridal prep and groom prep was taking place. I popped into the girls first and got some atmospheric candid images the bridal prep along with some images of details such as jewellery, wedding flowers and wedding dress. There was a great atmosphere, and everybody was nice and relaxed.  

Stuart and his groomsmen were also in the hotel, so I popped into them whilst a little nervous, they were also in great spirits and a pleasure to be around. I captured some candid images along with some posed portraits of Stuart with his groomsmen. I was quite conscious that there was an hour’s drive to the church, so I worked quickly to ensure nobody was going to be late for the church.

I arrived at the ceremony location well ahead of the wedding car and with some time to spare and captured some more images of Stuart with his full set of groomsmen including the best man who was not at the hotel earlier. Sinead and her bridesmaids arrived shortly afterwards, and I also photographed some images of her with her bridesmaids.

Their wedding ceremony wedding was presided over by a lovely priest who was eloquent as well as being efficient and friendly. After their ceremony family portrait were photographed on the grounds of the church.

On the way back into Galway City we were lucky with the traffic and made great time to Salthill Promenade just across the road from the Galway Bay Hotel, the weather was just fantastic and because it was March the sun was setting in the west which made for gorgeous directional light. Salthill is a stunning location for wedding photography and offers a multitude of locations to work with. After spending some time getting some stunning images it was time for Sinead and Stuart to make their way to their friends and family at the drink’s reception and get the party started.

It was a great wedding to be involved and Sinead and Stuart were pleasure to work with and with a wedding venue such as The Galway Bay Hotel they were going to have a brilliant time in the safe hands of Steven.
