Claregalway in Co. Galway was the location for the wedding of Lorraine and Jason. The morning started off at Lorraine’s parents’ house just a few minutes down the road from the church. The bridal prep was in full swing when I arrived, and I met Lorraine’s father in the driveway and who gave me a great welcome. I could hear the laughter from within the house and I knew it was going to be one of those great wedding days with a great bunch of people. The bridal hair as being done by Collette Costello and Anne Marie Fahy was the makeup artist, two very talented wedding professionals who I have worked with many times. After capturing some natural images of Lorraine interacting with her parents and bridesmaids, I decided to go upstairs get some images of the bridal gown, wedding and engagement rings along with any other wedding details that were available. There was a lot of natural light streaming through the windows, and I made a mental note to capture some bridal portraits with that natural light also. In the meantime, I spotted a nice pocket of light hitting the carpet through the bathroom window and I photographed most of the accessories in that light I was lying on the landing while doing this and I think I gave Lorraine’s mother the fright of her life, I’m not sure if she thought I had fainted or that I was lying down on the job. Technically I was lying down but I was doing my job we had a good laugh about it afterwards. I knew also that I was going to get an Image of Lorraine in that light with her wedding dress prior to putting it on, which I did manage when things started to move a little faster on the morning. As I mentioned earlier there was a lot of natural light upstairs and this coupled with the warm tones that decorated the bedroom, I manged to capture some beautiful bridal portrait images of Lorraine on her own and with her bridesmaids as well. Lorraine and here bridesmaid were great fun, friendly and easy to work with. After capturing some other family portraits, I headed off to the church in Calregalway village to meet Shane and his groomsmen who were equally fun and super easy to work with. After the ceremony and when all the family pictures were completed, we headed into Galway City and stopped off at NUIG for some wedding pictures the weather was cold with grey overcast skies, so I decided that this was a good option in case the rain came. I also wanted to get some images of Lorraine and Jason on Salthill Prom, just the two of them I wasn’t going to risk cold bridesmaids and groomsmen (sorry guys and gals). To say it was cold on the prom would be an understatement, but both the bride and groom were up for it, so I worked quick and fast to get a good selection of images without anyone getting frostbite, then it was time to head to the Salthill Hotel were the wedding party was waiting.
Lorraine and Jason, you were an absolute pleasure to work with thank you both for having me as your wedding photographer I thoroughly enjoyed the day with you all.
The very best wishes for your future together.
