Photographed the wedding of Aleisha and Ollie what an amazing day full of laughter and fun at The Ardilaun Hotel, two of the nicest people you could ever have the pleasure of meeting. The wedding day started at the bridal prep which took place at Aleisha’s parent’s home in Galway City. It was a very calm house on the morning of the wedding which was no doubt helped by a few glasses of champagne, some of which I was also offered but I decided to stick with the coffee. Hair and makeup ran smoothly and on time and Aleisha looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress, so much so that the father of the bride shed a few tears. No doubt so proud of his daughter on this very special of days.
The it was onto the Claddagh Church in Galway City were the wedding ceremony was taking place. I also managed to get some portraits of Ollie the groom who looked very dapper in his Black-tie Suit did someone say the new James Bond oh maybe it was my imagination.
The priest whose name I can’t recall (sorry) was very funny and an absolute gentleman and performed the ceremony with the right amount of importance sprinkled with a dollop of fun.
His personality was a match for devilish personality that both the bride and groom possessed and it was just a lovely wedding ceremony to experience.
The Claddagh Church is located in the heart of Galway City and it is often referred to as Old Galway or the origin what is now one of the most popular parts of Ireland, flocked to by tourists from all over the world. Just across the Church is where we photographed some of the wedding pictures with a view of The Long Walk made famous by the song Galway Girl.
We then headed to Salthill Prom for more photographs with a beautiful sunny day, ah days like those are great for the soul.
After we finished in Salthill it was onto The Ardilaun Hotel just few minutes away and a fabulous location in Galway City for anyone planning their wedding. As the evening passed I photographed wedding guests having fun, speeches and first dance. We also managed to get some creative nigh time images in the garden of the hotel.
Aleisha and Ollie were a pleasure to work with everything on the day was achieved with ease and fun and I thoroughly enjoyed photographing their wedding.
From a photography approach the aim as always was to tell the story, be it by a documentary approach capturing moments combined with cinematic stylised imagery.
Thanks for having me.
